Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they move loads. The Rider model on the other hand, utilizes a small platform wherein the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the best choice.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that could function in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
