Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A type of machinery that could carry loads that are around 30,000 pounds is a forklift. A forklift is also called a counterbalance. Despite being big and sturdy, these industrial machinery still bear the potential chance of crash or accident. To be able to be very safe, be sure to have operators wear the right seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are on board. We all know that in the event of an accident, seat belts can save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The types of seat belts that could extend both over the lap and across the upper body are the three-point seat belts. These belts provide an added degree of safety by protecting your body. They are available in both bench-seat and buckle-seat kinds. The 3-point seat belts are available in either non-retractable or retractable kinds.
Retractable seat belts are usually used in the majority of modern vehicles on the market. Though non-retractable types increase safety, retractable kinds offer a lot more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to accidentally extend.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are those that extend over the lower part of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides will separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type that force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which makes an alarm sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band styles.
