Audible Devices - Back-Up or Motion Alarms:
Back-up alarms and motion alarms are audio device accessories which generate enough sound so that the noise is heard overtop the noises generated from the forklift itself.
The sound produced by the audio device must be discernible from other audible devices or sounds from the work environment. The sound should also be different from the other sound or audible devices within the work place. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; therefore, care should be taken.
Determine the direction and distance the sound of the audible device is made more difficult because of the use of hearing protection. Audible devices could sometimes get disabled from both employees and operators because they could find them very annoying. Moreover, audible devices can also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Operator & Application Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To be able protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are utilized to help avoid injuries and reduce other problems. In addition, these cabs feature an emergency exit through removing the window. Noise levels are lessened at the operator's ear because of additional sound proofing.

Furthermore, it allows a supervisor to set the maximum performance of a model for an operator who is just starting to learn. Being able to lessen and adjust the maximum performance of the unit allows a new operator to learn the operating characteristics of the machine in a controlled environment.
Impact Monitor: The impact monitor disables the unit and when this happens, it requires a supervisor to activate and override the model. This encourages the operator to be sure to manage the equipment in a more controlled manner.
Panoramic and Dual Rear View Mirrors: These mirrors serve as an aid to the operator in observing the operating environment behind the truck as well as the tail swing area.
