Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources which could power forklifts. They can run using gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for numerous applications. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the machinery should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must truly be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
